Right now, we are seeing an implosion of our great city of Santa Barbara like never before. From businesses on State Street with the city not dealing with the homeless to restaurants not getting permits due to parking requirements to R-4 property owners in the legal STR zones having to now convert homes to hotels, the city is being run by a dysfunctional group of bureaucrats that now value corporate America. At the very core we are coming to find out and realize that it is originating at the top where enforcement of our laws and ordinances are being carried out. Our city leaders rely heavily on the information that city attorneys and city staff provide to them on a daily basis. This information relayed to them which impacts their decisions has proven to be conflicting, inaccurate and se...

City staff presentation and public comment on more information Caltrans should add to their Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the proposed widening of highway 101 in Santa Barbara. Of particular interest is understanding how congestion would move from the sparsely inhabited coast to the city streets, and how this could be mitigated. Construction needed in the city to unblock increased freeway traffic through the first lights after off ramps would cost the city $45 million dollars, Caltrans is offering to pay 1% of this. The amount and location of increased city congestion after the first lights and how to mitigate are not addressed in the EIR. Pour on the rum on the wound
And send kisses through a postcard
The winter has come
Straight to the bones
Wile you're still rubbing your eyes
Let the wax dry on the pulps
Prayers are becoming courses
Salt-away heart/cuttlebone knife
...nobody loves as i love you tonight!
Far away from here
Where the sky is getting clear
The blueberries float
In the outdoor washtubs
And my hampered fingers
As a compass without a needle
It will never end
Looking for your hands
Over the foam of the waves
The tail of the whale
Over and over
